The West African rock band Mdou Moctar is playing at the 9:30 Club on March 22nd with Philly-based electric guitarist Emily Robb opening the show. The band first received recognition by circulating their music, that fused class hard rock with traditional West African sounds, around Niger via flip phone memory cards. After making it on various Top Album lists in 2021 for their album Afrique Victime, and releasing the deluxe edition this year, they’re finally on another DIY world tour.
