PREVIEW: Cherub @ 9:30 Club

For those of us unwilling to relinquish our hold on endless summer beats and nights that turn into mornings, Cherub’s show on Friday at 9:30 Club is another subtle reminder that summer isn’t over quite yet.

Riding the electropop and retro-funk vibes, Cherub’s sound is perfect for your early September weekend anthem. Their new single, “Sensation,”which dropped on the 9th, is true to Cherub form boasting a heavy baseline and catchy carefree lyrics typical of their dual 2013 albums MoM & DaD and 100 Bottles.

With five albums already under their belts, Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber of Nashville, Tennessee are just beginning their Fall 2016 tour, “Bleed Gold, Piss Excellence” which shares the namesake of album released over the summer. Best known for their hit, “Doses and Mimosas,” which topped The Hype Machine chart and has more than 5.4 million YouTube views, Cherub’s addictive and catchy tongue-in-cheek lyrics and basslines have evolved with them from 2013 to 2016 – elements which will undoubtedly contribute to a great show this weekend.
