On Wednesday, October 13th, Kaytranada will be performing at The Anthem for the first time.
Kaytranada, born Louis Kevin Celestin, is Haitian-born DJ, producer, and electronic musician who gained notoriety for his exploits in the Montreal music scene over the course of the early 2010s. His popularity boomed around 2013 with a series of lauded remixes and performances, including multiple widely-circulated Boiler Room sets.
In 2016, Kaytranada’s first full album, 99.9%, was released to critical acclaim, including the Canadian Album of the Year from Polaris. On the record, he featured collaborations with performers like Anderson .Paak, Syd, GoldLink, and BadBadNotGood.
The excitement around Kaytra’s debut prompted great hype for his follow-up, and in 2019, he released his second album, Bubba. Winning two Grammys and making several “Best of 2019” lists, the record solidified his place amongst electronic music royalty.
Following the cancellation of the ensuing tour for the album due to COVID-19, Kaytranada will return to the stage for his North American tour. Doors for the venue will open at 6:30 PM, with the set slated to start at 8:00. Tickets can be found here.
