Legendary Rock Band Maná Urges Concertgoers to Vote

Maná, the famous Mexican rock band, led a politically-charged concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City Monday.

Opening the concert with an anti-Trump ad and a rallying cry of #votolatino, Maná emphasized the power of Latino voters. Playing old songs such as “Falta Amor and “Dónde Jugarán los Niños, the crowd sang along to every word.

It was a high-energy performance, rife with riffs of electric guitar, sonorous chorus and heavy drums. A crowd favorite was “Labios Compartidos”.

Maná not only played their classic songs, but a cover of Bob Marley’s “Get Up, Stand Up” to get Hispanic concertgoers to vote and make sure that they are voting for a candidate that is not Trump. Only a few songs of Maná’s new album in La Cama Incendiada  were played such as “La Telaraña”, which came out in 2015.

One of the most entertaining acts of the night was drummer Alex Gonzalez with an explosive drumming set that made everyone get up to their feet. Coming back for an encore, Maná ended by urging the crowd to vote.
