PREVIEW: Snakehips @ 9:30 Club

Snakehips is about to blow up the music industry.

The London-based duo is becoming exponentially more popular as music lovers discover their retro, yet innovative sound. They have been topping charts on Hype Machine since their first release, a remix of “It’s Too Late” by Wild Belle. Since then, they’ve joined high quality artists including A$AP Mob, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Shakira, as a part of RCA Records. Snakehips has released one EP and toured all over the USA, Europe, and Australia.  Lucky for us, they’re coming to DC’s very own 930 club this Friday.

What I like most about Snakehips is the way that they incorporate old school R&B and hip hop into electronic sounds. Their most popular single “All My Friends,” combines house beats with heavy bass and hip hop samples to produce a bumpin, catchy song. Snakehips, Tinashe, and Chance the Rapper collaborated to incorporate all of their talents into this work of art.

Fortunately, this isn’t the only new music from the duo.  In July 2016, Snakehips released another single, “Cruel” with former One Direction member, Zayn Malik. This song begins sounding like an emotional Drake song, but quickly picks up the pace into a dance jam. Don’t miss the opportunity to tell your friends that you discovered Snakehips first! Hit up the 930 club on Friday, November 4 and grab your ticket at this link.
