For the past three years, WRGW has hosted its Spring Concert at 6th & I, the historic synagogue in Chinatown. In 2012, we saw Red Line Grafitti and Reptar bring the house down. Last year, we teamed up with other local college radio stations to bring Deerhunter, Mas Ysa and Jackson Scott to DC. This year, we are so proud to announce a very special lineup that reflects WRGW’s fresh, new focus.

River City Extension, the genre-bending indie rock band from New Jersey,  has been making music since their Nautical Sabbatical EP in 2009. They’ve been winning the hearts of fans across the world with their bluegrass-meets-punk-meets-rock-and-roll sound. But, as one of the station’s goals this year was to connect WRGW with the DC community and, especially, the myriad talent in the city, we wanted to push it even further. Welcome Paperhaus, DC’s DIY psych pop wunderband. Now we’ve got ourselves a lineup.

But still, something felt missing. We are WRGW and we represent the voices of students at GWU. We need another act to represent the overwhelming talent at our university. Flash forward to the basement of Ivory Tower, where the musicians of our own school clock in hours after class perfecting their performance. We then meet Sun Cycle, a wildly talented trio that combine the best of psychedelic rock and classic rock. With groovy basslines, pounding drums and wickedly sweet guitar solos, we could not have found a better group to represent the buff and blue.

The blend of all three acts together under 6th & I’s roof will provide a night of overwhelming talent and groove. A fantastic time will be had by all. Come on and join the event page so all your friends will see how cool you are supporting college radio and local music!

WRGW will be selling a *LIMITED NUMBER* of discounted tickets ($8) exclusively for you! Reach out to us and we’ll get our GW Colonials hooked up. 3/28 UPDATE: These tickets are sold-out. General Admission tickets ($10) are still on sale through 6th & I or pay $12 at the door!
