Joyce Manor has a new LP for you to listen to! And Joyce Manor fans know, if you like Joyce Manor, you love Joyce Manor. Sadly, since their first LP was so iconic for the punk scene today, it is not as great in comparison. It’s not filled with nearly as much yelling, ridiculously flowy lyrics or blisteringly loud guitars, but it’s still pretty damn good. There’s a hiccup here and there, but for the most part it’s still the highly energetic punk band we all know and love. If you don’t have it go pick it up. Now. It’s $11 for the record on Asian Man Records, and it comes in black and white vinyl. Or you can download it from iTunes.

“Of All things I Will Soon Grow Tired”

These kinds of ice skates- Personally I thought this was a strange song to open the album with. It’s a little slow, and the static samplings at 50 seconds in was a little out of character for them. Still, I like it.

Comfortable clothes- You start seeing a bit more of Joyce Manor as they were on their last LP with this song. It’s faster from the get go and the drums are a little rougher. Solid punk song.

See how tame I can be- This song was just kind of out of left field from me. The drums and bass from the beginning give it this feel like it’s an indie dance song. It reminds me of Fake Problems in a way…

Drainage- It was cool to hear an acoustic song on this LP. And oddly enough, of all the songs on the LP, I thought the acoustic songs were the most reminiscent of their last LP. Drainage is the first song I hear on the LP that sounds uncut, completely raw, which is a quality I tend to associate with the band.

Video killed the radio star- Great cover. Probably best cover I’ve heard of this song.

If I needed you there- Definitely one of the best songs on the LP. It’s loud catchy and loud. Also it’s loud.

Bride of Usher- Another oddly dancy song. But, there’s a really cool use of acoustic guitar, and the lead line is catchy as all get out.

Violent inside- This song was released a few weeks ago as a single and I’ve had a pretty long time to listen to it, but I’m still not sure how I feel about it. I think it’s lacking somewhere, but don’t quite no where.

I’m always tired- Great song. Probably my favorite on the LP. I think I might have liked it a little more electric than acoustic, though. Hopefully the band will play is electric at their live shows and you can compare the two.

Listen to GW I’ve given you all and now I’m nothing, my show on Saturdays from 2 to 4. I’m definitely going to be throwing a few of these songs into the rotation this week.
